EU-Africa Space Policy & Institutional Expert

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Non‑Key Expert to support the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme (AESPP Boost). The expert will facilitate policy dialogue, institutional cooperation and programme governance between European and African stakeholders in the space sector.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and support policy dialogue between EU and African Union institutions.
• Assist in the design and implementation of programme governance and steering mechanisms.
• Provide institutional advisory on EU space policy and African space governance architecture, including AfSA and AUC/RECs.
• Facilitate knowledge exchange, innovation and private‑sector engagement across the partnership.
• Prepare briefing notes, reports and recommendations for senior decision‑makers.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in international relations, public policy, law, political science, space policy or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in international cooperation, public policy or institutional advisory work.
• At least 4 years of experience with EU and/or African Union policy frameworks and institutional processes.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is an asset.

• Experience with inter‑institutional dialogue, steering mechanisms and programme governance.
