Transport Expert – Global Gateway Project (48‑month contract)

About the role

NTU International A/S is building a talent pool of transport experts to support the Global Gateway Transport and Urban Facility 2 project. The assignment will start in January 2027 and run for up to 48 months, with experts deployed on short‑term technical assistance missions worldwide, especially in Sub‑Saharan Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia‑Pacific.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prepare, appraise and implement transport and connectivity projects.
• Conduct prefeasibility and feasibility studies, technical assessments, economic and financial analyses, and sector studies.
• Support transport infrastructure planning, design, rehabilitation, modernisation and investment planning.
• Assist public authorities in developing policies, strategies, regulatory frameworks and sector reform programmes.
• Prepare transport investment pipelines aligned with Global Gateway and European Green Deal priorities.
• Advise on sustainable, low‑carbon, smart, safe, resilient and inclusive transport solutions.
• Facilitate multimodal transport, logistics connectivity and integration between different transport modes.
• Assess investment climates, identify PPP opportunities and support procurement, tendering and contract management.
• Promote European and international transport standards and best practices.
• Contribute to institutional strengthening, knowledge creation, training and capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in transport, infrastructure, mobility, logistics, connectivity or related sectors.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas: road and highway infrastructure, rail, ports, airports, urban mobility, multimodal logistics, PPPs, or transport policy and regulation.
• Experience working with public authorities, international financial institutions or development partners is preferred.
