Senior Climate-Resilient Infrastructure Expert

About the role

NTU International is looking for a Senior Climate-Resilient Infrastructure Expert to support the EU‑funded Technical Assistance to ECOWAS in Transport Governance project. The role focuses on integrating climate‑resilience and adaptation measures into transport infrastructure planning and corridor development across West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate climate‑resilience and adaptation measures into transport infrastructure projects and corridor initiatives.
• Provide technical assistance on climate‑proofing methodologies, disaster risk reduction, and resilient infrastructure design.
• Conduct climate vulnerability assessments, resilience analyses, and climate risk screening for transport projects.
• Develop climate‑resilient infrastructure standards, technical guidelines, and operational frameworks.
• Advise ECOWAS institutions and Member States on resilient transport planning and adaptation strategies.
• Prepare technical studies, policy recommendations, and capacity‑building workshops.
• Coordinate with transport authorities, environmental agencies, development partners, and regional stakeholders.
• Support monitoring, reporting, and analytical outputs related to resilience initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in civil engineering, climate change, environmental engineering, infrastructure resilience, disaster risk management or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in climate resilience, infrastructure adaptation, transport engineering or sustainable infrastructure development.
• At least 7 years of experience specifically in climate‑resilient infrastructure, climate adaptation or disaster risk management.
• Proven experience working on infrastructure or transport projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
