Immunization Specialist (P-3) – Cold Chain & Logistics

About the role

The Immunization Specialist (P-3) will provide strategic and technical leadership to strengthen vaccine supply‑chain systems, cold‑chain management and logistics performance in the Union of the Comoros, reporting to the Chief of Health and Nutrition.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement of the Immunization Supply Chain (ISC) in line with EVM 2.0, the national Continuous Improvement Plan, the Immunization Supply Chain Strategy, Thrive360 and Gavi 6.0 priorities.
• Collaborate with the Ministry of Health, Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), UNICEF Supply Division and partners to enhance vaccine forecasting, stock management and distribution systems.
• Strengthen cold‑chain equipment management, maintenance and the use of logistics information systems.
• Develop capacity at all health‑system levels and facilitate coordination through National Logistics Working Groups.
• Promote evidence‑based decision‑making, supply‑chain governance and digitalisation of logistics processes.

Required profile

• Experience in vaccine supply‑chain and cold‑chain logistics within a public‑health context.
• Proven ability to work with ministries, international partners and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of Effective Vaccine Management (EVM) practices and Gavi frameworks.
